This coming October 13-14, I will be attending the 10th edition of the e-Tourism Summit at the Marriott Marquis in NYC with the Monaco Government Tourist Office. I am very excited to meet colleagues of other tourist offices across the US and share best practices. The program and the list off attendees sound interesting. Today I visited the Adventure Travel Expo at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in NYC. I have attending this show for many years now and I have been very happy to see it growing, but the last two years have not been its best years. The current economic crisis has certainly contributed to the decline of this last edition, but it looks like that this trade show lost its soul. The theme is adventure travel, but there were some destinations and exhibitors that little have to do with adventure, – not to talk about some stands that do not have anything to do even with travel! Luckily I had some business meetings, so my afternoon did not go totally wasted.
